This could be very infrequent, but it surely does occur once in a while. The response to the remote in some circumstances is sluggish. For example, unmuting takes a big fraction of a 2d. There are other much less troublesome issues too. I referred to as VISIO tech enhance and they stated they weren't accustomed to these issues and had me do a full reset which had no effect. I exchanged the unit I bought for a 2d and it had the identical problems. Then I read a overview by somebody else complaining about the identical problems (and others). Update (1/18/11): I ended up getting the Samsung LN37C530 (one of the few differents that fits in my cabinet). The Samsung has not one in all the sync or quantity issues that the VISIO did with the actual same inputs.
Some different remarks: one gripe I had with the VISIO was once gradual tuning on broadcast signals. The Samsung tunes so much sooner, however the VISIO was once ready to do a greater job of locking on to susceptible signals.
